Your appointmentThe practice is on level 1, 694-696 Pittwater Road, Brookvale 2100. Our elevator can bring you upstairs. Allow around 2 hours for your initial consultation. After checking in at reception our highly trained orthoptists will assess you and perform specialised tests of visual function and acuity using a range of diagnostic equipment. Most likely they will put drops in your eyes to dilate your pupils after which you will wait for your pupils to dilate before you are seen by the doctor. The consultations may require detailed investigations or special procedures. Also, if there are unexpected emergency cases during the day, this may delay some appointments.
Can I drive after seeing the doctor?Drops may be used to dilate the eyes. The time it takes for the drops to wear off can vary, but it generally takes about 2 -4 hours. You are advised NOT TO DRIVE AFTER YOUR EYE TEST as this results in glare sensitivity and blurred vision. It is best is to have someone else drive, or use public transport. Bring sunglasses as your eyes will be sensitive to bright light.
